The Art of Surviving Talent Show 2020

In 2020, Fundacion Triunfadora was faced with commemorating the International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women in the middle of a pandemic.

The Fundacion chose to commemorate the day and educate the public in the form of a virtual talent show titled, The Art of Surviving. Participants were tasked with showcasing their talent virtually and accompanying it with a video to describe how it is relevant and/or pays homage to the victims of homicide in the year 2020.

The first-place winner was Ana Camila Paredes who demonstrated her talent as a visual artist with a very impactful painting.

The first workshops of the Fundacion Triunfadora

The first workshops of the Fundacion Triunfadora took place in early 2020 in collaboration with FIMRC and the National Police of Ecuador, DEVIF unit. The geographic area of focus was Anconcito where workshops were delivered in 7 barrios. The participants expressed gratitude for the information and noted that access to first response and police assistance was very complicated due to their location far away from the nearest police station.

Those workshops were the beginning of a longtime collaborative relationship with the local domestic violence police. Over the years, Fundacion Triunfadora has continued to work alongside the police to deliver workshops in various communities in the province of Santa Elena, enlightening citizens of their rights and responsibilities and their part in preventing domestic violence.

Free Website Design Course for Women

In November 2019, Fundacion Triunfadora help a free Web Design for Women course and was held in conjunction with the Salinas Yacht Club Foundation and Renaissance 21, a non-profit organization in the US.

15 women were trained in the basic level of web page design with the WIX platform. The course lasted 10 weeks and was directed by Lcda. Shelly Mosh Pitts, a professional website designer from the UK.
